Where your dreams begin
I think most artists just want to be heard.
When it comes to me, I think deeper. I see my art as an outlet for the innermost conflicts and resolutions I experience in life.
It started with poems, writing down what I couldn't or was to afraid to speak. Then music, singing and performing in an experience I created. Now a book series where I've created a world for others to experience. I want to inspire. I want to bring hope. Let it be known in a world so dark that something flickers in the shadows.

I’m Jay-B Saffold — a singer-songwriter from Detroit, Michigan, with a heart full of music and a vision bigger than myself. Music has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. From the moment I discovered my voice, I knew I had something to share with the world. Learning piano and other instruments gave me the tools to shape that gift, but songwriting became the way I told my truth.
My dream is simple, yet powerful: to travel the world, to tell my story, and to inspire others along the way. I believe music has the power not only to change lives, but to save them. I want my journey to prove that with faith, resilience, and hard work, dreams do come true. I strive to be a voice for those who are afraid to speak, a light for those searching through darkness.
Nothing in my path has been handed to me. I’ve fought, struggled, and built everything from the ground up. Out of that drive came Saffold Sound LLC, a company I founded to publish and distribute my music — and one day, to create a home for other songwriters who have stories to tell. My art is 100% original, raw, and real. I don’t chase trends — I create music that comes from the heart.
But my journey doesn’t stop at music. In Bonne Terre, Missouri, I founded Just Juice(d) — a juice bar known for its snow cones, lemmies, and snacks. What started as a small dream has become a local space of creativity and encouragement. Just like with my music, my goal is to inspire young entrepreneurs to chase their passions, no matter how small the dream may seem.
At the end of the day, I want to leave behind more than songs or businesses — I want to leave behind a legacy. One my children can be proud of. One that shows the world that even from the hardest struggles, beauty can rise.
My story is still being written. And if you take anything from it, let it be this: work hard, believe in yourself, and never falter — because even the most tragic stories can end in light.
